The Long Road South
by the makers behind Sawdust & Soda Cans
Sometimes success arrives at the exact moment life asks you to change direction.
Chapter 6 of 9

Success has a funny habit of arriving right before life asks something difficult of you.
Within three months of each other, both fathers passed away.
Suddenly the future wasn’t just about workshops and craft shows.
Two mothers needed help.
Care.
Family.
Alaska was beautiful.
But it was far away.
The decision was not easy.
The future they had planned—the dream of building their maker life in Alaska—had to be put aside.
Sometimes life asks you to choose between the dream you want…
and the people you love.
So in 2018, just one year after their first profitable season, they packed up their lives and moved south to Tennessee.
The goal was simple.
Take care of family.
And somehow keep the maker dream alive.
What they didn’t realize yet…
was that the hardest part of the journey was still ahead.

Over the next several weeks we’ll be sharing the full origin story of Sawdust & Soda Cans here on the blog.
